SELINSGROVE, PA — Susquehanna University field hockey senior Taylor Rothermel has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Watchlist, as announced by the organization.

Rothermel enters her senior season after putting together an impressive 2025 campaign for the River Hawks. The Dornsife, Pa., native started all 21 games and finished the season with eight goals and three assists for 19 points. She was named First Team All-Landmark and helped the River Hawks advance to the Landmark Conference championship game for the third straight year. 

Rothermel also found the back of the cage twice in victories over King's (Pa.) and Elizabethtown, recording a pair of two-goal performances during the season. She added a defensive save against Dickinson and contributed assists in victories over Alvernia, Lycoming and Goucher.

The senior forward has been a consistent contributor throughout her Susquehanna career. In three seasons, Rothermel has appeared in 58 games with 41 starts, recording 17 goals and nine assists. She enjoyed a breakout freshman season in 2023, scoring five goals and adding an assist, including a late goal in the Landmark Conference Championship that sent the contest to overtime before the River Hawks ultimately prevailed in a shootout. Susquehanna won the Landmark Conference championship in 2023 and 2024, advancing to the NCAA Tournament both seasons. 

A graduate of Line Mountain High School, Rothermel was a three-time team captain and earned Team MVP honors as a senior. She also received Tri-Valley League All-Star, Daily Item First Team and News Item First Team recognition.

Rothermel and the River Hawks look to build on their recent success when they take the field for their season opener against Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 5 p.m.
