SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna women's soccer head coach Nick Hoover announced the captains for the 2026 season in Maesie Baker, Gigi Duncan and Katie Henchy. 

Baker, a senior defender from Cherry Hill, NJ, was a key contributor for the River Hawks starting all 21 games for the River Hawks. She recorded one goal against Lycoming while also recording two points and five shots on goal throughout the season as well. She logged a career high 110 minutes of playing time against Elizabethtown.  

Henchy, a junior goalkeeper from Nazareth, PA, was a steady presence in the net for the River Hawks starting all 21 games. She recorded 93 saves while facing 212 throughout the season, finishing with an 81.4% save percentage earning her the fourth-best mark in the conference. Henchy also posted eight shutouts, ranking second best in the conference.  

Duncan, a defender/midfielder from Bloomsburg, Pa., made an impact for the River Hawks in 2025, starting all 15 games she appeared in. She recorded two goals on 18 shots including eight shots on goal, highlighted by scoring a game-winning penalty kick goal against Stevenson. Despite not competing this season due to injury, Duncan's continued presence at practices and games makes her an invaluable presence on the sideline to support her teammates. 

Coach Hoover and his captains will look to build on last year and bring some excitement to the field. The River Hawks' season opener against Misericordia was cut short Tuesday evening due to lightning in the area. The team continues their season on Friday at home against University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg at 7:00 p.m.
