Men’s Basketball Falls to Lycoming in Overtime

Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Susquehanna Men's Basketball fell to the Warriors of Lycoming College 79-70 in overtime on Sunday as the team traveled to Williamsport, Pa.

How It Happened
  • Susquehanna started off the game strong with a 7-0 lead, not allowing the Warriors to score until just under six and half minutes into the first quarter.
  • A three ball by Lycoming's Darius Dangerfield with 4:38 left int he first half, jump started the offense for the Warriors allowing them to take a 28-22 lead into the locker room.   
  • The River Hawks were led in the first half by Danny Frauenheim (Point Pleasant Beach, Nj. / Point Pleasant Beach) with seven points knocking down one 3-point shot.
  • Susquehanna made some changes in the locker for the second half coming out and scoring 10 points in the first three minutes to regain the 32-30 lead.
  • Both teams went back and forth putting up baskets until a three ball by Dominic Dunn (Haddon Township, Nj. / Camden Catholic) pulled the River Hawks away from Lycoming.
  • Lycoming was able to bring the game to a tie in regulation after a made layup by Mo Terry with eight seconds left to play.
  • Despite laying down some key shots, it was the Warriors that came out on top 79-70.
 Inside the Box Score
  • Dunn led the scoring for the River Hawks with 16 points, scoring 13 of them in the second half and overtime periods.  
  •  Zachary Knecht (Parkland, Fl. / Stoneman Douglas) lead the defense with nine rebounds while Dunn also contributed eight.
  • As the team, The River Hawks went 11-18 from the free throw line and put up 28 points from the paint.
  • Knecht (12 points) and Mike Kempski (West Chester, Pa. / Salesianum) (10 points) round out the scorers in double figures.
  • Dangerfield led the way for the Warriors with 19 points while Dyson Harward led the defense with nine rebounds.
