Audric Washington Receives Mike Scheib Memorial Foundation Scholarship

SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna men's basketball senior forward Audric Washington was named as the inaugural recipient of the Mike Scheib '78 Memorial Foundation Scholarship. Washington completed a four-year career with the River Hawks, culminating in capturing the 2025-26 Landmark Conference championship, the program's first since 2022, the year prior to Washington's arrival.

The native of Bowie, Md. will graduate this May with his Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, while also minoring in Psychology. He has been named to the Dean's List four times and has a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Audric was named to the 2022-23 Landmark All-Sportsmanship Team. He is the vice president of the Muslim Student Association, a member of the Black Student Association, and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, while serving as a resident assistant. In four years wearing orange and maroon, Washington helped Susquehanna to 64 combined wins with 46 Landmark victories) and making the Landmark Semifinals each of those seasons. The program made the Landmark Championship game in 2024 and 2026, winning the latter to hang their third Landmark banner. Washington was named the 2026 Landmark Tournament MVP after scoring 21 points with nine rebounds in the championship game at Wilkes, capping off the team's nearly-improbable playoff run as the sixth seed to upset Scranton, Drew, and the Colonels.

This Mike Scheib '78 Memorial Foundation Scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Michael Paul Scheib, a distinguished alumnus, exceptional athlete, and respected leader whose character left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Mike embodied humility, integrity, and determination in every aspect of his life. As a student-athlete, he achieved remarkable success, earning the prestigious Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award, while also demonstrating unwavering leadership and sportsmanship. Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Mike was known for his deep faith, his devotion to family, and his genuine care for others.

The scholarship is a testament to the qualities Sheib's life and legacy helped define - strong character, loyal leadership, academic and athletic dedication, and a meaningful commitment to your school and community. Mike believed deeply in encouraging others, leading with compassion, and making a positive difference in the lives of those around him.
