Box Score HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Susquehanna Men's Basketball took down Juniata College 72-53 on Saturday afternoon as the River Hawks traveled to Huntingdon, Pa.
Danny Frauenheim (Point Pleasant Beach, Nj. / Point Pleasant Beach) led the River Hawks with 23 points.
How It Happened
- Both teams went back and fourth at the start of the first half but a foul on a made layup by Lukas Yurasits (New York, NY. / Berkeley Carroll School) was just the spark Susquehanna needed to pull away from the Eagles.
- The River Hawks were led in the first half by Zachary Knecht (Parkland, Fl. / Stoneman Douglas) with 11 points, putting up five layups and a free throw.
- SU's defense held the Eagles to just 24 shots in the first half and kept Juniata scoreless for just over a six-minute time span when John Kelly made a layup at the 9:15 mark to make the game 21-10, in favor of the River Hawks.
- The teams went into the locker room at halftime with Susquehanna leading 38-30.
- Susquehanna came out of the locker room hot and ready to finish the game as Matt LaCorte (Westfield, Nj. / Westfield) knocked down a three ball just a minutes and 20 seconds into the second half. Frauenheim added a layup just 53 seconds later after a Juniata turnover.
- Frauenheim took the lead from there knocking down 14 more points for 16 total points in the second half.
- Juniata brought the game to 58-50 after a jumper from Nathan Markey with just over six minutes left to play, but the Eagles would only be able to score one more basket before falling to the River Hawks 73-52.
