ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Juniors
Sara Arbogast (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) and
Kate Ross (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) both recorded AARFTC qualifying marks on Saturday as the Susquehanna University women's indoor track & field team competed at the Nazareth College Conference Challenge Cup Invitational in Rochester, N.Y. Additionally, Susquehanna posted five Top-10 finishes to come in 10th in the 12-team field with 17 points.
How It Happened
- Ross clocked a personal record and Landmark Conference third-best time of 5:21.93 for third in the mile run, qualifying for the AARFTC as well.
- Arbogast also picked up an AARFTC-qualifying mark in the triple jump as she finished third with 10.77m (35'4"). She claimed a ninth-place finish in the long jump as well with 5.02m (16'5.75").
- The 4x400m relay of Arbogast, Ross, senior Samantha Reed (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area), and first-year Sarah Urban (Victor, N.Y./Victor Central) placed fifth with a Landmark-leading time of 4:16.67.
- Senior Erin Reese (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) led SU in the 3000m run with a ninth-place finish as Reese posted a conference second-best time of 10:49.98.
- In the 60m dash, first-year Lizabeth Fessler (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) came in 14th with a personal record of 8.33, while Reed took 15th in the 400m dash with a personal record and league third-best time of 1:03.23.
- First-year Kallan Carter (Reading, Pa./Gov. Mifflin) paced the River Hawks in the 800m run with a personal record of 2:32.26 for 17th in her first collegiate indoor meet while senior Alexa Pietrini (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) took 19th in 2:35.01.
- Junior Kristen Blair (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) picked up a 20th-place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 11.54m (37"10.5") while sophomore Jenna Juntunen (Hazlet Township, N.J./Raritan) finished 28th in the shot put with a conference fifth-best 9.14m (30').
- In the pole vault, first-year Brooke Leitzel (Lake Hopatcong, N.J./Jefferson Township) notched a 25th-place finish with a vault of 2.60m while first-year Jordan Yingling (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) was 27th with 2.45m.
- Urban placed 41st in the 200m dash in 28.78, a personal record.
