Muth Sets New Pool Record as Women's Swimming Puts Up Dominant Win Over Ramapo

SELINSGROVE, PA (November 5, 2022) -- Senior Haley Muth lead the River Hawk women's swim team to a 176-71 win over Ramapo College in a record-setting performance on Saturday.

In a dominant outing, Susquehanna won 9 of the 12 individual events while sweeping both relays.

The meet was highlighted though, by Muth's first place finish in the 100 Yard Butterfly, as she set a new Susquehanna University pool record in a time of 58.28, taking down Ashlee Weingarten's record set in 2017. Muth would also win the 50 Yard Freestyle and was a part of the 200 Yard Medley relay and 200 Yard Freestyle relay.

Junior Mia Doll established her breaststroke dominance, as she won both the 100 and 200 Yard Breaststroke with times of 1:13.15 and 2:38.75, respectively. She also out-touched Ramapo's Alazne Sudupe in the 200 Yard IM with a winning time of 2:20.73.

Ashley Derrick and Julia Adams teamed up in the 100 Yard Backstroke, touching first and second respectively, Derrick sneaking in by .05 seconds on her teammate. Adams though, would dominate the 200 Yard Backstroke, defeating the rest of the field by 10 seconds with a time of 2:20.08.

Adams, Doll and Muth would join up with freshman Emma Church to win the 200 Yard Medley Relay. The River Hawks would also win the 200 Yard Freestyle relay to close out the meet, but this time it was the team of Muth, Church, Adams, and senior Madison Peifer

The Susquehanna women have now defeated the Roadrunners of Ramapo in back-to-back years and begin the season 1-0.  They head to Madison, NJ next weekend to take on the Drew University Rangers.
