Women Start Swimming Season Defeating Elizabethtown, Lycoming

SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna women's swimming defeated Lycoming College and Elizabethtown College Friday evening to make a huge splash to open their season.

How it Happened:

Catherine Sirignano, Jillie Donner, Erika Guche, and Payton Kenney opened the season with a win, taking first place in the 200 yard medley relay, posting a tme of 1:59.68.
The 1000 yard freestyle saw Matilda Klinetob and Kate Wolford take first and second place, respectively. Klinetob posted a time of 11:38.66, followed by a time of 11:55.49 posted by Wolford.
Emma Church and Maddie Lebkicker took second and third place in the 200 yard freestyle, with Church posting a time of 2:07.87, and Lebkicker posting a time of 2:15.81.
Payton Kenney won the 50 yard freestyle race, posting a time of 26.60.
Erika Guche and Catherine Sirignano took second and third in the 200 yard IM, posting times of 2:23.40, and 2:27.43, respectively.
Lebkicker claimed second place in the 100 yard butterfly, posting a time of 1:07.36.
Emma Church tallied a first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle, followed closely behind by Payton Kenney. Church posted a time of 58.10, followed by Kenney's time of 59.10.
Sirignano and Hannah Nash took first and second place in the 100 yard backstroke, posting times of 1:07.07 and 1:07.20.
Matilda Klinetob won 500 yard freestyle, posting a time of 5:42.80.
Jillie Donner tallied a second place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke, posting a time of 1:14.18.
Cameron Alvino, Jillie Donner, Matilda Klinetob, and Hannah Nash finished the night with a first place win in the 200 yard freestyle relay, showcasing a time of 1:50.21.

Up Next for the River Hawks:

The River Hawks remain at home to kick off homecoming weekend, beginning the Schweikert Relays on October 24, at 5:30 PM.
Juniata College visits the following weekend on Saturday, November 1, starting the meet at 1:00 PM.
