ALTOONA, PA (Sinking Valley Country Club) - Susquehanna University's men's golf team completed their last dual match of the fall season against Penn State Altoona.
Eli Mumau and
Charlie Betz each achieved 76 scores, a career-high for Mumau, as Susquehanna delivered the second best team score on the afternoon with a 312.
Betz had a fine day on the par-72, 6851-yard Sinking Valley Country Club course, delivering four birdies and seven pars, with just one triple bogey on the 12th hole serving as the lone outlier on his scorecard. Mumau's career day was backed by two birdies on 1 and 15, with pars on all but six of the remaining holes.
Jonathan Spohn was next up with a 78 thanks to a pair of birdies on 11 and 13, while
David Birmingham's 82 was the last piece of SU's team scoring, starting his day off with a birdie on the par-five first hole. First-year
Chase Maggs also took to the course, scoring an 86.
Susquehanna was pitted against Altoona's A and B team, with the A's totaling a 309 and a medal performance by Ethan Ellis, who carried a 74 on the day. The River Hawks outshot PSUA's B team, 312-318.
Saturday marked the end of a busy week for Susquehanna, competing over five of the last eight days between four tournaments. They take flight one more time this fall at the Shawnee Inn for the Landmark Conference Previews Oct. 26-27.
