ELIZABETHTOWN, PA - Susquehanna's women's swim team came within one point of winning their first dual match of the season Saturday at Elizabethtown. While both teams met last week in a slightly different venue at SU's Schweikert Relays, specializing in many unique combinations of relays, the River Hawks and Blue Jays got down to business squaring off in this weekend clash. Susquehanna finished with 101 points, backed by four victories and a multitude of second and third place finishes, while E-Town used its seven victories towards 102 to edge out the win.

First-year distance swimmer Matilda Klinetob got right to work, winning the first solo races of her career with a victory in the 1000-yard freestyle at 11:21.95 and the 500-yard freestyle at 5:37.18. Following her victory in the latter Mackenzie Moran got the River Hawks' third win of the day in the 100-yard breastroke at 5:37.18. They finished the day with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Emma Church, Catherine Sirignano, Payton Kenney, and Cameron Alvino posted a winning time of 1:46.33. Church added a pair of second-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:06.26 and the 100-yard freestyle at 56.76. Alvino had two second-place marks in the 50-yard freestyle at 26.24 and 100-yard butterfly at 1:05.93. Sirignano was in the same boat with silver finishes in the 200-yard IM at 2:23.69 and the 100-yard backstroke at 1:06.52. Adding to the second-place mix was the foursome of Hannah Nash, Sarah Gauntlett, Maddie Lebkicker, and Madison Milheim that raced 2:05.24 in the opening 200-yard medley relay.

Susquehanna's next competition sends them up the road at Bloomsburg University Saturday, Nov. 2.
