SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna men's swimming and diving orchestrated many great marks and victories Saturday while hosting Moravian and Goucher in a Landmark Conference tri-match from their own Garrett Natatorium.
The River Hawks claimed two of the top three spots in the 200 yard medley relay. Kaden TenEyck, Keegan Pence, Joey Wayne, and Brandon Sutherland just edged out their fellow teammates to earn first place in this event, with a time of 1:45.21. Coming in second place in the event was Dan Venuti, Akira Black, Eskander Bierman, and Bryson Wood with a time of 1:49.94. The 200 yard freestyle also fared well for the River Hawks as David Gentile claimed first place in this event, with a time of 1:55.02. Following Gentile was fellow teammate, Dan Venuti with a time of 1:58.05. Susquehanna claimed the top two spots in the 1000 yard freestyle with Harrison Ziegler finishing the event with a time of 11:10.10, followed up by Kenny Smith with a time of 12:12.16.
The River Hawks continued their dominant performance during the 50 yard freestyle, where they saw the top three spots of the event fall into the River Hawks end of the water. Kaden TenEyck finished the event in first place with an outstanding time of 22.28, followed very closely by Eskander Bierman with a time of 23.30. Rounding out the top three was Akira Black with a time of 23.78. The 200 yard IM saw Brandon Sutherland claim first place with a time of 2:18.19. Dan Venuti claimed the first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 55.98.
The 100 yard freestyle saw three River Hawks take the top spots. David Gentile finished wiht a time of 50.68, which claimed him first place in the event. Following Gentile was Keegan Pace setting a time of 52.11, while rounding out the top three was Kenny Smith with a time of 54.39. The dominance of this meet continued into the 100 yard backstroke as Brandon Sutherland claimed first place with a time of 1:01.73. The 500 yard freestyle saw Joey Wayne claim second place with a time of 5:35.39, finishing just behind Harrison Ziegler of Moravian University, who posted a time of 5:25.59. The 100 yard breaststroke saw the River Hawks vault back into first places finishes, as Akira Black won the event with a time of 1:04.34. Rounding out the events was the 200 yard freestyle relay as Susquehanna claimed first place. Joey Wayne, Keegan Pence, Bryson Wood, and David Gentile claimed first place with a total time of 1:36.07.
After the dominant Landmark performance that the River Hawks accomplished against Goucher College and Moravian University, the River Hawks will be back in action on Saturday, January 18 as they take on Landmark foe, University of Scranton.
