SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna men's and women's swimming and diving hosted their annual Schweikert Relays Friday afternoon, inviting Cedar Crest College to join the homecoming festivities. The annual relays, named in remembrance of longtime head coach Ged Schweikert, featured many opportunities for swimming alumni and fans to get into the Homecoming spirit.
How it Happened:
- The afternoon started off showcasing the 200 yard medley relay, where the River Hawks were able to post times of 2:07.1, followed by the men running their own relay, posting a time of 1:45.5.
- Heading into the 3x100 back relay, the women were able to show a time of 3:17.7, with the men posting just seconds faster with a time of 3:11.4.
- The men posted a time of 3:23.65 in the 3x100 breast, followed by the women posting 3:49.60.
- The 3x100 fly saw the men's swim team show a time of 2:50.75, with the women tallying a time of 3:36.05.
- Susquehanna's longest relay of the meet was the 5x100 free, with the women's team showing an impressive time of 5:07.58, and the men showing a time of 4:27.88.
- The 400 medley relay was slated up next, as the men raced two teams against each other, tallying times of 4:01.93 followed by 4:14.20. The women posted a time of 4:40.17.
- Susquehanna women's swimming showed a time of 4:04.46, with their male counterparts running times of 3:30.45 and 3:30.75.
- Dan Venuti and Kade Cimakasky joined the Cedar Crest ranks, as they teamed up to run the 200 medley relay. Cedar Crest posted a time of 2:14.38, with the SU team's showing times of 1:59.70 and 2:06.82.
Up Next for the River Hawks:
- Susquehanna stays home for a meet against Conference foe Juniata College on November 1. The River Hawks begin their road trip at Messiah University on November 7, followed by the Misericordia Cougar Splash Invite on November 21-23.
