SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, PA - The Susquehanna University men's golf team finished fifth at this weekend's Landmark Conference Fall Previews to wrap an impressive fall season. Their 625 two-day score split between a 314 on Saturday and 311 Sunday was 35 back from first-place Drew and just three off of fourth-place Moravian. First-year
Marc Twombly was the top River Hawk in 11th place with a 154 (+10) score, while Drew took the top two spots with Elliott Parker's 140 (+4) and Avery Cohen's 144 even score.
RIVER HAWKS ON THE COURSE
- T-11. Marc Twombly, 154 (72-82) +10 - Broke even Saturday thanks to five birdies, while shooting even 36's on the front and back. Sunday proved to more arduous, though managed 12 pars on the course.Â
- T-17. Jax Puskar, 156 (80-76) +12 - Shot one birdie Saturday on Hole 17 with ten pars, including eight pars on the front nine. Continued his progress on the front Sunday with two birdies as he improved by four strokes on day two.
- T-22. Jonny Zadravec, 157 (81-76) +13 - Collected two birdies Saturday with six pars. Fared better Sunday scoring 38 on the front and back, thanks in part to four birdies.Â
- T-30. Jonathan Spohn, 160 (81-79) +16 - Another River Hawk who improved on day two, going from nine pars on Saturday to 12 on Sunday, including eight on the front.
- T-32. Rider Nicholl, 161 (81-80) +17 - Shot one birdie on Saturday with nine pars. Collected two birdies on Sunday with eight pars.Â
UP NEXT FOR THE RIVER HAWKS
- Susquehanna goes into the winter with plenty of confidence with the work that translated in the fall. Coach Ryan Redfern's team will benefit in the spring with several players returning after spending the fall studying abroad, such as David Birmingham and Eli Mumau.Â
