ALTOONA, PA - Susquehanna University men's golf wrapped up a two-day stay at the Penn State Collegiate Classic, hosted by Penn State Altoona at Sinking Valley Country Club, where first-year
Jax Puskar improved from a 77 on Sunday to a 75 on Monday to finish seventh with a 152 (+12) two-day total. The River Hawks placed 14th in the top-heavy field with a 655 team score while familiar opponent on SU's tournament scene Franklin & Marshall winning with a 602. Mount Saint Joseph's Caden Perkins won with a 146 combined score (75-71) after tying and winning the tiebreaker against F&M's Oliver Clark.
RIVER HAWKS ON THE COURSE
- 7. Jax Puskar, 77-75 (+12) - Had one birdie on day one at hole seven for a 77 at daybreak. Improved by two strokes on Monday thanks to four birdies and five pars.
- 34. Jonny Zadravec, 80-77 (+17) - Went from an 80 on Sunday with eight pars to a 77 on Monday on account of three birdies and seven pars.
- T-81. Rider Nicholl, 88-85 (+33) - Scored two pars on day one, then moved up three strokes day two after scoring six pars.
- T-81. Chase Maggs, 86-87 (+33) - Had four pars on day one before totaling three pars on Monday.
- 87. Jonathan Spohn, 89-88 (+37) - Tallied three pars Sunday before moving up one stroke on Monday thanks to five pars.
UP NEXT FOR THE RIVER HAWKS
- Susquehanna is right back at it as the River Hawks' B Team goes to Reading, Pa. on Tuesday for the Alvernia Invitational.
- After that SU competes at the Mason-Dixon Classic Oct. 11 and 12 before the Landmark Conference Fall Previews Oct. 25-26.
