Men's Swimming Dominates Juniata

SELINSGROVE, PA - The Susquehanna men's swim team wrapped up hosting duties for the fall leg of their season Saturday afternoon with a Landmark Conference matchup against Juniata, celebrating the occasion with a season-best 184 points in dual meet action for a 184-78 victory. 

How it Happened:
  • The River Hawks started the winning early, with Brandon Sutherland, Jack Rice, Timothy Wetmore, and Kade Cimakasky, posting a time of 1:45.23 in the 200 yard medley relay.
  • The River Hawks claimed a second and third place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle, with Keegan Pence taking second and posting a time of 11:08.85, followed by Kenny Smith in third with a time of 12:08.78.
  • David Gentile claimed first place in the 200 yard freestyle, showing a time of 1:54.65.
  • Dan Venuti and Brandon Sutherland took first and second place in the 100 yard backstroke, showing times of 55.59, followed by a time shown by Sutherland of 59.33.
  • The 100 yard breaststroke saw two River Hawks take the top two spots, with Joey Wayne showing a time of 1:05.19, followed very shortly by AJ Black showing a time of 1:05.22.
  • Wetmore showed a time of 2:09.95 in the 200 yard butterfly.
  • Doug Bell won the 50 yard freestyle, showing a time of 22.42.
  • Gentile, Eskander Bierman, and Doug Bell took all three podium finishes in the 100 yard freestyle, showing times of 50.81, 51.39, and 51.80, respectively.
  • The 200 yard backstroke saw Brandon Sutherland win showing a time of 2:11.37.
  • The 200 yard breaststroke was won by Wetmore, followed by AJ Black.
  • Keegan Pence claimed second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:29.05.
  • Venuti showed a time of 54.25 in the 100 yard butterfly.
  • Three River Hawks took first, second, and third in the 200 yard IM, with Venuti winning the race, followed by Wetmore and Rice.
  • Bierman, Pence, Wayne, and Gentile took first place in the final event of the day, the 400 yard freestyle relay.
