CARLISLE, PA - Susquehanna University's men's golf team completed their first weekend of competition for the spring at the Dickinson College Spring Invite, posting a 644 combined score after a 321 on Saturday and a 323 on Sunday.
Jonathan Spohn was the River Hawks' leader through both days, shooting sub-80 with a 77 Saturday and a 78 Sunday. The competition took place at the par-72 Carlisle Barracks Golf Club.
Eli Mumau and
Charlie Betz both mirrored each other on the leaderboards between Saturday and Sunday, each carding a 81 first-day total, followed by an 82 on Sunday.
David Birmingham was next up, finishing with a 167 total following 82 and 85 respective days.
Patrick Bova, making his season debut after spending the fall season studying abroad, shook off a 90 outing on Saturday with a nine-stroke improvement Sunday with an 81 for a 171 total.
On the slate for the River Hawks this spring are just two more regular-season invitationals before gearing up for the Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort in Delaware, Pa. Prior to any of that the men's golf team is prepared to host an Alumni and Friends Golf Outing Saturday, April 12 at their home Susquehanna Valley Country Club. The following Monday, April 14 the team heads down to Stevenson University for their Spring Invitational from Upperco, Md.'s Piney Branch Golf Club. Then that Thursday, April 17 the River Hawks host their own Spring Invite from SVCC.
