Nationals Hopefuls Sharpen Marks at Second Day of AARTFC

ITHACA, NY - Day two of the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships set sail Saturday from Ithaca College, where several Susquehanna women's track and field competitors looked to make one final impression before meeting season's end.

For the likes of Chloe Yoder, it was an opportunity to tune up her bid for the NCAA Division III National Championships, set for next weekend from Rochester, N.Y. After qualifying in Friday's preliminaries with a time of 8.89, Yoder locked in fourth place with a time of 8.73. Senior Liza Levin took to the 800 meters, running a new PR of 2:22.31, the fifth-fastest time in program history.

Susquehanna boasts a handful of hopefuls for nationals, including Yoder in the 60H, Remi Acord in the triple jump, and Hannah Alderfer, who made a serious bid for the pentathlon following a record-setting performance on Friday finishing second with 3,424 points, 15th-best in NCAA Division III as of Saturday evening. Selections for Div. III nationals will be announced Sunday evening. For most of the women's team, they wrap up another productive indoor season, with outdoors around the corner as the season opens Saturday, Mar. 29 with SU's own Jim Taylor Invitational, with the throws scheduled for Friday, Mar. 28.
