SELINSGROVE, PA - After spending Thursday and Friday hosting the River Hawk multi, the Susquehanna men's track and field team continued to play host on Saturday with their River Hawk Field Meet. After Friday evening officially kicked off the meet with a series of races, the teams then battled it out between the throws, jumps, and pole vaults.
Things got started in the morning with the hammer throw as
Cole Goodwin took second in his group with his third attempt landing at 42.23m. He then earned the top mark in the discus throw, needing just his first throw to beat out his competition from Bloomsburg at 40.44m. He did the same with the shot put, throwing 14.30m on his fifth attempt. The throws wrapped up with the afternoon's javelin as
Tim Kizis led the team with his second attempt landing at 47.89m.
Tyler Roush also threw, landing at 39.79m off his second attempt.
Inside Estill Field House lied the high jump and pole vault.
Marcus Moyer was the day's lone competitor for the high jump, clearing the 1.70m, 1.75m, and 1.80m bars all on his first try.
Seth Taub,
Lance Engel, and
Thomas Stitt all took hold in the pole vault, with Taub leading the group that included three vaulters from Bloomsburg at 4.00m, passing the bar on his first try. Engel came in at 3.25m, while Stitt cleared 3.10m. Outside saw the long and triple jump. In the long
Austin Hurrell earned the team's best measurement when his third jump landed at 6.79m.
Jackson Mabry finished sixth at 5.96m, while
Deatrick Moyer landed seventh at 5.81m.
Kyle Landry dropped in at 5.51m, while
Eli Book got as far as 5.36m and
Ethan Roe 5.29m. Moyer led Susquehanna in the triple jump, finishing third overall at 12.72m and Mabry fourth at 12.49m. Hurrell came in sixth at 11.89m, while Landy was eighth at 11.43m.
