BETHLEHEM, PA – The Susquehanna women's track and field team paid their annual visit to Moravian University for its Coach Pollard Invitational on Friday. The great weather made for even greater performances, with a number of PRs and highlights.
Senior Hannah Alderfer, fresh off her record-setting performance in last week's heptathlon, journeyed further at Moravian running a slew of events. Starting with her familiar 100 meters, she set a PR with a time of 12.49. She then ventured over to the 400-meter hurdles, celebrating her career debut in the event with a fourth-place time at 1:06.26. In the 400 meters, senior Liza Levin and junior Ashley Newman ran their season bests—Levin with 1:01.31 and Newman with 1:02.09. In the 200 meters, Levin set a PR with a time of 27.82.
During the long jump, Alderfer set another PR, placing third with a jump of 5.73 meters. In the discus, sophomore Catherine Sirignano threw 30.11 meters to place fifth, while junior Rebecca Cree placed eighth at 29.20 meters. During the hammer throw, sophomore Keira Carbone set a PR with a throw of 37.49 meters. In the shot put, Carbone also set a PR with a mark of 11.24 meters. Sophomore Abigail Haskell set a PR with 10.09 meters, while Cree set a PR with 9.80 meters.
Four River Hawks took flight in the pole vault, with senior Sarah Bower leading the way in eighth place at 3.20 meters. Sophomore Sophia Bostwick cleared 2.90m, while Alison Sponseller went 2.75m and Katie Cammarata 2.30m. Charlotte Houle took to the high jump, going as high as 1.43m.
