SELINSGROVE, PA - The Landmark Conference has announced the preseason poll for women's soccer, with the River Hawks sitting in the seventh spot. Looking ahead at their competitive schedule, balanced by a strong non-conference schedule starting at seventh-ranked Misericordia this Friday, head coach Nick Hoover and his team look to make noise back to the top of the Landmark.
Head coach Nick Hoover returns for his 13th season at the helm of the River Hawks. Showcasing a 107-87-27 overall record, and a 39-27-10 conference record, Hoover aims to take his young team to the Landmark Conference playoffs. Hoover has led his team to the playoffs eight of the last thirteen years, claiming one Landmark title and two NCAA tournament berths. A strong group of River Hawks from the 2022 team that won 14 games are poised to get the team back in the plus column, which include graduate players Chloe Michaels and Ashley Marchessault, as well as seniors that include Sydney Williams, Caitlyn Sanchez, Morgan Stickley, and Kalie Quaglia. Susquehanna also boasts a young returning class that features sophomores Katie Hency in net, Ava Billmeyer, Amelia Kopp, Nicole Freiler, and Gigi Duncan
This weekend the River Hawks head up the road to Misericordia University to play the seventh-ranked Cougars Friday at 7 p.m., followed by their home opener on Sunday against Haverford at 1 p.m.
