Jax Puskar kept his numbers low this weekend towards a second-place finish shooting two under par as Susquehanna men's golf placed fifth overall at Catholic University's Cardinal Fall Invitational. The team finished both Saturday and Sunday in fifth place, totaling a 602 score after a 302 Saturday and an even 300 Sunday. Marymount won the team title with a 586 (+3), while the host Cardinals placed second with a 591 (296-295). Individual winner Riley Ruby only bested Puskar's score by one stroke with a 141 (-3).
RIVER HAWKS ON THE COURSE
- 2. Jax Puskar, 142 (72-70) -2 - Broke even Saturday with two birdies against two bogeys. Hit three birdies on day two, including a 34 two-under-par on the front nine.
- T-18. Jonny Zadravec, 150 (74-76) +6 - His Saturday was highlighted with an eagle on the par-five, 539-yard 14th hole. Added three pars on day one. Scored five birdies on Sunday, all on the back nine.
- T-26. Jonathan Spohn, 153 (77-76) +9 - Began his stay with three birdies on the front nine Saturday. Followed this up with one birdie on Sunday and shooting an even 36 on the back nine.
- T-35. Chase Maggs, 157 (79-78) +13 - Had one birdie on Saturday, then shot an even 36 on the front nine Sunday, all pars.
- T-48. Patrick Bova, 161 (83-78) +17 - Scored a birdie each day. Shot par 12 times on Sunday.
UP NEXT FOR THE RIVER HAWKS
- The River Hawks have four more matches this fall, including late October's Landmark Previews. They take next weekend to go to the Penn State Collegiate Classic hosted by Penn State Altoona Sunday, Oct. 5 to Monday, Oct. 6.
- The next day, Tuesday, Oct. 7, they head to the Alvernia Invitational at Ledge Rock Country Club.
- The following week features Susquehanna at Gettysburg's Mason Dixon Classic at Waynesboro Country Club.
