Jonathan Spohn, the new guys made themselves known on day one Sunday by posting the lowest team round in program history with a 289, good for second place. Rookie
Jax Puskar carried a 68 score for four-under-par, while fellow first-year
Jonny Zadravec carved out a 71 for one-under. On day two Monday the team bested that record total wih a 287, led by Zadravec's astounding 67 on the second day, along with first-year
Rider Nicholl carrying a 71 one-under-par.
The River Hawks finished third overall with an even 576 score, behind Franklin & Marshall's staggering 562 14-under-par total, including a -13 showing on Sunday. Host Dickinson finished second with a 575 one-under-par, shooting one over on Sunday, then improving to a two-under-par score on Monday. Unsurprisingly, the individual champion came from Franklin & Marshall in Max Silverman with his 136 two-day total between his 67 and 69 scores.
On the Course for the River Hawks
- 4. Jonny Zadravec (71-67) -6 - His 67 outing Monday was one stroke behind the school record set by hall-of-famer Mitch Mercer. Birdied three times Sunday on Holes 8, 9, and 15. Had only one bogie Monday and six birdies on Holes 1, 5, 7, 8, 12, 16.
- 6. Jax Puskar (68-73) -3 - Had seven birdies against three bogeys Sunday, birdying on Holes 1, 2, 5, 7, 9, 15, and 16. Had four birdies Monday on Holes 1, 4, 15, 16.
- 29. Rider Nicholl (78-71) +5 - Logged a seven-stroke improvement between Sunday and Monday. In round one had two birdies on Holes 3 and 17, then responded mightily on day two with six birdies on Holes 2, 5, 9, 10, 14, 16.
- 57. Jonathan Spohn (78-76) +10 - Scored two birdies on Sunday on the front via Holes 4 and 9. Despite not birdying on Monday scored par on 14 holes for a two-stroke improvement.
- 57. Marc Twombly (72-82) +10 - Tallied three birdies Sunday to help break even on Holes 2, 9, and 16. Had one birdie Monday on Hole 8.
