Men Swim to Lengthy Victories over Moravian, Lycoming to End Regular Season

BETHLEHEM, PA - Susquehanna men's swimming finished their regular season Saturday with a sweep of Moravian and Lycoming. The meet, hosted by Moravian, completes the River Hawks' regular season as they look ahead to mid-February's Landmark Conference championships. 

How it Happened:
  • The River Hawks started strong in the 200 yard medley relay, claiming first and second place in the event. Kaden TenEyck, Akira Black, Dan Venuti, and Eskander Bierman took the gold medal in the event, posting a time of 1:40.10.
  • Tim Wetmore took second place in the 1000 yard freestyle, posting a time of 10:57.74.
  • Keegan Pence edged out fellow River Hawk swimmers, David Gentile and Kade Cimakasky, in the 200 yard freestyle to take first place. Pence finished the race with a time of 1:53.91.
  • Doug Bell added his name to first place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle, showcasing a time of 22.26. Eskander Bierman took second place in the event with a time of 22.70.
  • The River Hawks continued their dominance in the 200 yard IM, with Dan Venuti finishing in first place with a time of 2:07.06.
  • The 200 yard butterfly saw Tim Wetmore finish in first place with a time of 2:12.45.
  • Doug Bell finished in first place in the 100 yard freestyle, followed by Kaden TenEyck in second, and David Gentile in third. Bell posted a time of 49.81, followed by TenEyck posting a time of 50.40, and Gentile with a time of 50.77.
  • Dan Venuti finished in first place in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:02.93.
  • Akira Black added a gold medal finish to his resume in the 200 yard breaststroke. Black finished with a time of 2:32.12.
  • The final event of the afternoon was the 200 yard freestyle relay. Gentile, Wayne, Bierman, and Bell finished the race in first place with a time of 1:30.35.
Up Next for the River Hawks:
  • The River Hawks round out their regular season with a 6-2 overall record, while finishing 5-1 in Conference meets. 
  • Susquehanna looks to earn the Landmark Conference title at the Mangione Aquatics Center in Baltimore, MD during the Landmark Conference Championships slated for February 12-15.
