SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna's men's and women's basketball programs achieved plenty during an exciting winter season as both programs combined for five mentions to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's and Women's Basketball Academic All-District® Teams. Upperclassman
Brandon Lavitt represented the men's team with his second such honor, while women's seniors
Julia Roth and
Julia Pinckert received mention and were chosen for CSC Academic All-American® consideration. Women's basketball juniors
Annie Greek and
Sydney Weyant received their first Academic All-District selection.
The women's basketball team achieved their first 20-win season since 1994-95 with a 21-5 record, their highest win total since 1991-92 en route to the second seed for the Landmark Conference Tournament. Roth and Pinckert were selected to the All-Landmark First Team, with Roth going on to earn D3hoops.com All-Region V and an invitation to the WBCA Division III All-Star Game last Saturday in Salem, Va.
The men defied all expectations as they became the first sixth seed ever to win the Landmark Men's Basketball Conference title. Led by eventual Second Team All-Landmark selection Lavitt, the team won four of their last six regular season games to make the tournament, then went on to pull off three road playoff wins at the expense of three-seed Scranton, two-seed Drew, and fourth-seed Wilkes to make their first NCAA Tournament since their previous conference title in 2022.
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District®, student-athletes must carry a 3.50 cumulative GPA through two competitive seasons and have started or played in at least 90 percent of their team's games.
