Biography

Bill Muir ’65 was an All-MAC offensive tackle in his junior and senior years but also played defensive tackle. Muir’s coaching career, which began in 1965 as an assistant coach under head coach Jim Garrett, stretched more than 40 years and took him from Susquehanna to Division I programs to the National Football League, including serving as an assistant coach for the 2003 Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was inducted into the SU Sports Hall of Fame in 1990 and was again honored by SU in 2018. Muir is also a member of the Hall of Fame of the State of Pennsylvania.
