Acord, Levin Record School Records Saturday At The Armory

NEW YORK (December 3, 2022) -- Sophomore Remi Acord broke the Susquehanna University school record in the long jump as well as winning the triple jump, and Liza Levin snapped the school 600 meter mark in a big day of action at the TCNJ Indoor Open at The Armory in New York City.

Acord had a monster day for the River Hawks, as she won the triple jump with a mark of 11.19, recording that on her second leap of the afternoon. The sophomore would then post a new school record of 5.56 meters in the long jump, taking home second place. The distance is the third-best mark in Division III after the day's competition. Acord's triple jump length was seventh in the country.

Junior Alexa Rine had a strong day as well for the River Hawks, as she rank a personal-best 8.06 in the 60 meter preliminaries before taking fifth place with an 8.12 in the finals. The 8.06 was third-best all-time at SU, and is 43rd nationally.

In the 300 meter dash, sophomore Alayna Krempa posted the eighth-best time in program history after running a 45.63 for 16th place overall, while Caitlyn Kuhn crossed the line in 45.99 for 18th overall and 10th best all-time at SU.

Levin established a new school record in the 600 meters, taking sixth place overall with a time of 1:43.54. Teammate Gabby Feliciano recorded the second-best time ever in the 600 Saturday, as she ran a 2:01.45 for 15th place overall.

First-year Ashley Newman was solid in the 400 meter run, as she crossed the line in 1:03.14 for fifth place. In the 60 meter hurdles, junior Chloe Yoder had the second-best time in prelims with a 9.17 and then bested that time slightly with a 9.16 in the finals to finish as the runner-up.

In the pole vault, Sarah Bower was fourth overall with a mark of 2.75 meters and senior teammate Brooke Leitzel cleared 2.60 meters for fifth place. Sophomore Hannah Alderfer was third in the long jump with the third-best distance all-time at Susquehanna with a mark of 5.40 meters.

The River Hawks will open their home slate next weekend, hosting the SU Early Season Invitational and Multi Meet in Selinsgrove, PA starting December 9 at 4 p.m.
