NEW YORK (January 20, 2023) -- Junior
Chloe Yoder ran her personal-best Friday night in the 60 meter hurdles, highlighting a strong day of action at the Ramapo College Opener at The Armory in New York City.
Yoder finished second in preliminaries with a time of 9.43, but thn exploded to run a new personal-best time of 8.99 seconds to earn the victory. The time tied the Susquehanna school record, and is the 12th best time in Division III this season. Yoder wasn't the only one to shine in the 60 meter hurdles, as sophomore
Alayna Krempa ran a 9.38 to finish third overall.
Sophomore
Liza Levin took third in the 600 meter run after racing to a 1:43.82, while junior
Alexa Rine qualified for the 60 meter dash finals and recorded a time of 8.20 for fifth place. Yoder was also 11th in the 200 meters to establish a new personal-best, and first-year
Ashley Newman also ran a PR with a 28.21.
Krempa was 13th in the 400 meter run with a new lifetime best of 1:04.44, while classmate
Hannah Alderfer also ran a personal best with a time of 1:04.85. Both were AARTFC qualifying times. Alderfer was sixth in the long jump, qualifying for finals where she posted her best distance on the sixth and final leap of 5.16 meters.
Sophomore
Remi Acord was fifth in the triple jump, using her final jump in finals to log a mark of 10.96 meters. Junior
Maggie Boyer was fourth in the shot put with a mark of 11.63, as her best distance came on the final attempt in the finals.
SU will be back in action on Saturday, January 28 in Rochester, NY, taking part in the Interconference Battle at Nazareth College.
