NEW YORK, N.Y. (March 4, 2023) – A trio of record-setting performances from
Chloe Yoder,
Remi Acord, and the 4x200 relay team on Saturday's second and final day of the AARTFC Championships helped provide the Susquehanna women's track and field team their best-ever team finish at AARTFC' in 10th place.
After qualifying for the 60-meter hurdle finals Friday by beating her own Landmark Conference record at 8.74, Yoder gave that mark another polish with an 8.73 time in the finals for fourth. That time serves as ninth-best this season in all NCAA Division III and just 0.17 seconds off winner Laura Matthews' from Stevens at 8.56.
Acord earned the River Hawks' highest finish of the meet with a silver finish in the triple jump, setting a new school record at 11.67m.
Julia Acevedo (10.59m) and
Hannah Alderfer (9.98m) also competed in the triple, finishing 19th and 26th, respectively.
Yoder also helped end the day in style by anchoring the 4x200 with
Ashley Newman,
Alayna Krempa, and
Alexa Rine to finish seventh with a school-record time of 1:45.18.
Susquehanna finished its stay at the New York City Armory with 22 team points to reach the top ten for the first time since the AARTFC Championships began in 2019. The River Hawks now prepare for next weekend's NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in Birmingham, Ala. The complete list of national competitors will be announced Sunday.
