WEST CHESTER, PA (April 15, 2023) – Susquehanna women's track & field cemented another fine meet at West Chester's Bill Butler Invitational, taking second in the meet with 58 points before a lightning delay pre-empted the day.
The jumpers arguably secured the River Hawks their most impressive performances of the day, as the long jump produced two of the three top marks in school history.
Remi Acord's winning jump of 5.50m was the second-longest all-time, while
Hannah Alderfer's second-place mark of 5.43 took third all-time. Julie Acevedo qualified for the AARTFC's in the triple jump with her measurement of 10.94m.
Maggie Boyer won the shot put with her throw of 12.21m.
Meghan McDonald set a new PR in the 3000-meter steeple with her fourth-place time of 13:30.73, while
Alayna Krempa placed fourth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.26.
Delaynee McLeod took the fifth-best mark in the javelin at 32.10m, while Ainslee Binkley took eighth in said event at 28.25m.
Emma Myers placed seventh in the 1500, shaving 10 seconds off her personal best with a time of 4:58.79, while
Alexa Rine took seventh in the 100 meters at 12.94.
The River Hawks are not yet done this weekend, as several members are currently at Bucknell University for the Bison Invitational.
Kallan Carter will run Saturday night in the 1500 meters and will run in Sunday evening's 4x800 alongside
Jordan Bender,
Liza Levin, and Myers.
