SELINSGROVE, PA (April 7, 2023) – Hannah Alderfer rose up the leaderboard with a new school heptathlon points record on Friday's final day of the Susquehanna Multi with 4,368 points. She posted the second-best marks in the long jump and 800 meters at 5.40m and 2:28.30, respectively, while throwing for 25.32 in the javelin throw. This number stands as the fourth-best in NCAA Division III. Elizabeth Barre from Carnegie Mellon won the multi with 5,017 points.
Chloe Yoder, who finished day one in second place, finished third with 4,260 points, actually breaking the school record prior to Alderfer's surge in the 800 meters. She opened the day with the third-best long jump at 5.26m, throwing for 21.98m in the javelin, and running for 2:41.29 in the 800 meters.
Julia Alcevedo placed 13th with 3,134 points, jumping to 4.69m in the long jump, 13.66m in the javelin, and 2:38.52 in the 800.
The rest of the River Hawks will have their turn at Saturday's Susquehanna Easter Invitational, beginning at 9:00 A.M.
