SELINSGROVE, PA (April 8, 2023) – Following a record-setting two days of the multi, the Susquehanna women's track and field team parlayed that into a series of highlight performances Saturday to wrap up their busy week hosting the Susquehanna Easter Invitational.
Remi Acord doubled down to win the long jump and triple jump with AARTFC-qualifying marks of 5.39m and 11.83m, respectively. Her triple jump finished just three centimeters off the school record for second all-time and is fifth-best in NCAA Division III, while her long jump is third all-time. Maggie Boyer also struck gold twice with her winning throws in the shot put at 12.33m and the hammer at 46.06m, which stands second all-time and qualified her for AARTFC's.
Chloe Yoder, whose paramount performance at multi's gave her the top 100-meter hurdle time in the country, stayed true to form when she won the 100 meter dash at 12.56 for a regional bid and the sixth-best time in team annals. Right behind her was Alayna Krempa, who took second at 12.73 for eighth-fastest all-time, then went on to win the 200 meters at 25.77, giving her an AARTFC qualifying mark and the third-best time in school history.
Emma Myers captured the 5,000 meters with a personal-best 18:45.94, just missing the AARTFC qualifying mark by .94 seconds. The River Hawks picked up another victory in the 4x400 when the team of Alexa Rine, Kallan Carter, Caitlyn Kuhn, Liza Levin finished with a time of 4:18.09. Ainslee Binkley, who already possesses a regional mark in the javelin, finished second at 34.85m.
The River Hawks take their momentum into next weekend's Saturday split at Bucknell University's Bison Invitational and the West Chester Bill Butler Invitational.
