NEW YORK, NY - It's a new season for the Susquehanna men's track and field team as Saturday's TCNJ Opener at the Armory in New York gave way to a slew of new records and nationally-ranked marks. The 4x400 relay team broke the school and conference record by four seconds in a first-place time of 3:18.30.
Elliott Davis, a member of that relay team, also ran home with the program and Landmark record in the 300 meters with a time of 34.92, good for first place.
In the 60H prelims, junior
Carter Smink finished in second with a qualifying time of 8.41 for the finals, then bested that mark at 8.40 for second overall and the fastest Landmark time through the opening weekend, as well as 14th in NCAA Division III. Joining him in the finals were senior Ben Bulger, sophomore
Charles Montross, and senior
Ezra Miller. Smink, Bulger, and Miller swept second through fourth. Smink with 8.40, Bulger a new PR of 8.47, and Miller with a new PR of 8.52. Montross came in eighth with 8.82. During the 60-meter dash junior
Austin Hurrell finished with a qualifying time of 7.07, then bested that mark in the finals coming in third place with a PR of 7.03.
In the mile, sophomore
Asa Alderman finished in tenth place with a time of 4:49.33. Junior
Justin Weychert competed in the 400-meter with a time of 56.26. Sophomore
Mason Winslow finished in third at 35.29. Senior Josh Kimotho raced to third place during the 1000-meter race with a time of 2:45.81. In the 4x400 relay the team of Winslow, senior
Brandon Zimmerman, Bulger and Davis took first place with a collected time of 3:18.30, breaking the school and conference record, currently boasting the second-best time in NCAA Division III. The second 4x4 team with Smith, Smink, sophomore

Henry Notarfrancesco finished in fourth place with a time of 3:31.50 collectively, good for 43rd in the nation.
In Weight Throw junior
Cole Goodwin threw a PR of 14.09 meters finishing in sixth place. Hurrell took second place in the long jump with a stretch of 6.43 meters. In the pole vault, sophomore
Seth Taub vaulted 4.00 meters. In the triple jump junior
Deatrick Moyer, in his collegiate track debut, jumped 12.81 meters towards a fourth-place mark. Junior
Rowan Smith and sophomores Montross and
Bilal Abdelnabi finished in second, fifth and sixth in the high Jump, respectively. Smith jumped 1.82 meters, followed by Montross and Abdelnabi jumping as high as 1.77 meters.
The River Hawks come back to Selinsgrove ready to host the River Hawk Early Season Multi and Invite. The women's pentathlon and the opening sets of the men's heptathlon kick off the event Friday, followed by the invitational happening all day Saturday.
