SELINSGROVE, PA - The Landmark Conference has announced that
Emma Campitelli and
Hannah Garlin have been named offensive and defensive athlete of the week, respectively. Through thrilling finishes this week, Campitelli notches her second athlete of the week award in a row, with Garlin being named to the honors for the first time this season.
Campitelli tallies her second honors of the season after a thrilling overtime game winner against Conference foe Wilkes University. The SU athlete continued her dominant season in the weekend win over Drew, tallying an additional eight shots, landing five on goal and scoring one of four SU goals during the match. Campitelli tallied one assist in the match. Campitelli scored the game leading goal against SUNY Geneseo during a Sunday match up.
Hannah Garlin's strong defense helped the River Hawks defeat Wilkes University in thrilling fashion in a mid week match up. Garlin continued her defensive prowess against Drew University, allowing no more than one shot during the match. The SU athlete tallied one two shots this week, assisting with one goal.
The River Hawks have won four of their last five games, including three conference wins. They look to keep their winning prowess going heading into a Landmark Conference home match up on Wednesday, October 15, against Juniata College. Looking ahead, the River Hawks head onto the road for games against Moravian University and Catholic University, with Moravian welcoming SU on October 18 and Catholic welcoming the River Hawks on October 22. Wrapping up the regular season at home against Lycoming College on October 25, followed by the season finale at home against Goucher College on October 29.
