SELINSGROVE, PA - The Landmark Conference announced
Emma Campitelli as its Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week. Campitelli tallied her first athlete of the week honors this season in a week that saw the senior score two game winners as the River Hawks took one-goal victories over Marywood and Elizabethtown.
Campitelli scored the lone goal in the 1-0 win over Marywood University, before scoring the game winning goal against conference foe Elizabethtown College. With just seconds to play against Elizabethtown Saturday tied at 2-2, Campitelli sent her blast off a penalty corner to the back of the cage as time expired. Campitelli's two-goal week, matched with teammate
Taylor Rothermel's two-goal day versus E-Town, has them tied for the team lead with 11 points, both on five goals and one assist.
Campitelli and the River Hawks have won their last two games and three of their last four. They look to keep their winning fortunes going in a jam-packed week, beginning at Wilkes Wednesday in a Landmark matchup at 7 p.m. They have a two-fer at home this weekend, welcoming conference-opponent Drew Saturday at 1 p.m. and 24th-ranked SUNY Geneseo Sunday at 1 p.m.
