SELINSGROVE, PA – With the Landmark Indoor Track & Field Championships one week away, the men's team took advantage of their last shot Friday to improve their performances. The end result, new PRs and a drive for coming out on top being ranked number one for the Pre-Championship Poll. Susquehanna's men doubled its pleasure hosting the SU Invite in Estill Field House, while a few runners headed up the road to Bucknell University to polish out their outstanding times.
Dominic Santos and
Mason Winslow took flight in Bison Country in the 200, with Santos running a time of 22.27, while Winslow ran a new PR of 22.33.
Over in Selinsgrove, the rest of the River Hawks started off with senior
Andrew McDowell running a PR of 17:33.13 in the 5000 meter for seventh place. In ninth place, first-year
Joseph LaBarbera earned a time of 18:20.95. During the 60-meter hurdles prelims senior
Brandon Zimmerman raced a 8.23, junior
Carter Smink an 8.44, senior Ben Bulger an 8.52 and first-year
Nikolai Lulewich with an 8.88 made it to the finals. Zimmerman, Smink, Bulger and Lulewich finished in a sweep from first through fourth place in the finals, Zimmerman a PR of 8.16, Smink a PR of 8.24, 8.72 for Bulger and 8.91 for Lulewich. In the 60 meters, junior
Austin Hurrell ran 7.13, while senior
Jackson Mabry took 7.17. In the finals, Hurrell placed first with a PR of 7.02, while Mabry ran 7.23 in seventh place. First-year
Deatrick Moyer PR'd with an 7.81.
Sophomore
Asa Alderman took fifth place with a time of 4:34.59 in the mile, while in eighth place first-year
Thomas McGann took a PR of 4:35.68, beating out his previous best by ten seconds. Senior TJ Grenda, in ninth, ran a 4:36.04, while first-year
Aaron Kolosowsky completed a huge PR of 4:43.29, 43 seconds faster than his old time. Sophomores
Finnegan Lehman and
James Dell also PR'd with a 5:15.71 for Lehman along with a 6:13.31 for Dell. In the 400 meters, first-year
Henry Notarfrancesco finished with a PR of 51.97 for third place, along with junior
Justin Weychert also setting a PR at 55.19.
Alderman also competed in the 800 meters, taking sixth place running a PR of 2:00.82. Kolosowsky completed a PR of 2:03.10 for tenth place, while senior
Christian Calderaro PR'd with a 2:06.32. During the 200 meters, first-years
Jordan Donahay and
Aidan Diglio take second and third, with Donahay a time of 23.24 and Diglio a PR of 23.25. In the 3000 meters, sophomore
Hunter Valentino ran 10:03.22, while first-year
Ethan Harnish ran 10:39.39.
During the high jump, sophomore
Charles Montross and junior
Rowan Smith finished a respective first and second, each clearing as high as 1.84 meters. Lulewich, in fourth, jumped 1.79 meters, while junior
Marcus Moyer took 1.69 meters in ninth place. Zimmerman and Bulger went one-two in the long jump as Zimmerman posted a PR of 7.09 meters and Bulger with 6.53 meters. Lulewich took to the triple jump, placing seventh at 11.71 meters, while first-year
Kyle Landry jumped 11.16 meters for eleventh place. The pole vault featured sophomore
Seth Taub reaching a PR of 4.15 meters for fourth place. Junior
Tim Kizis placed ninth in the day-ending shot put with w PR of 11.81 meters
The River Hawks set their sails now to the Landmark Championships, set to run all day Saturday, Mar. 1 from Landover, Md.'s Prince George's Sprots Complex and Learning Complex.
