BETHLEHEM, PA – A pair of conference records fell Friday during Susquehanna's men's track and field stay at the Moravian Coach Pollard Invitational. Senior Elliott Davis rewrote his own 400 league record with a time of 47.34, good for tenth in the nation. The 4x100 team consisting of Dominic Santos, Mason Winslow, Brandon Zimmerman and Austin Hurrell took ownership of the Landmark, school and facility record with a time of 40.74, which is tied for first nationally.
Running alongside Davis in the 400 was Winslow, who ran a PR of 48.79 to place fourth. First-year Aidan Diglio ran a PR of 49.95, placing seventh. In the 110-meter hurdles, first-year Calder Diakite placed first in the prelims with a time of 14.51. Junior Carter Smink placed fourth with 14.90, while junior Rowan Smith ran 16.21 to finish seventh. Sophomore Charles Montross placed eighth with 16.40, being the last to qualify for the final. During the hurdle finals, Diakite ran 14.54 to take first place. Smink finished fifth with 15.04, Montross placed seventh with 16.56, and Smith came in eighth with 17.20. In the 100-meter prelims, Santos qualified for the finals with an 11.03 in eighth place. During the finals, Santos ran 11.01 to finish sixth. First-year Jack Pete set a personal record (PR) with an 11.25.
During the Steeplechase, first-year Thomas McGann completed his first steeple race with a time of 10:38.75. First-year Joseph LaBarbera set a PR with 11:18.38. In the 4x100 relay, Santos, sophomore Mason Winslow, senior Brandon Zimmerman, and junior Austin Hurrell ran a collective time of 40.74 to finish first, breaking Moravian's facility record. They also broke the school and conference records, tying for first in the country.
In the 800 meters, sophomore Angelo Facciolo set a PR with a time of 2:08.94. First-year Tommy Hover also set a PR with 2:10.05. During the 400 hurdles, senior Ben Bulger placed first with a PR of 52.39. Smink placed fifth with a time of 56.30. First-year Nikolai Lulewich finished in eighth place with a PR of 57.08. Diakite ran a time of 58.06 to place tenth. In the 200, Zimmerman ran a PR of 21.43 to take first place. In the 4x400 relay, first-year Henry Notarfrancesco, Diglio, Zimmerman, and Davis took first place with a time of 3:18.40.
Senior Jackson Mabry jumped 13.21 meters in the triple jump to finish seventh. In the high jump, Lulewich, Smith, and Montross all tied for tenth, each with a jump of 1.74 meters. During Pole Vault, sophomore Seth Taub placed eighth at 4.00 meters. In javelin throw, sophomore Jace Hershey threw 58.22 meters to finish in second place.
