SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna men's track and field's historic spring season earned head coach
Ethan Senecal some hardware of his own, being named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. The USTFCCCA issued its All-Region honorees, with Susquehanna receiving mention in 25 events, while the Landmark Conference announced the River Hawks earned All-Landmark in 17 events.
Senecal, in his seventh year as Director of Cross Country and Track & Field at Susquehanna, led the River Hawks to their fifth straight team title at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships, winning nine events. Susquehanna also won its first-ever All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) championship, winning three events and going top three in four more. Two of these AARTFC and Landmark champions, Ben Bulger in the 400-meter hurdles and the 4x100 team, went on to finish First Team All-American at last week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio, both placing sixth. Bulger was named the Landmark Conference's Track Athlete of the Year, while first-year and fellow national qualifier Calder
El Bachir Diakite in the 110-meter hurdles was named the Landmark's Rookie of the Year. The program attained as high as a number-seven ranking in the USTFCCCA men's national poll, the highest ever in school history, while instituting a bevy of new school and Landmark records.
The River Hawks earned USTFCCCA All-Region selections in 25 events between the men and women, while on the All-Landmark board the team earned mention across 17 events.
