Bill was a four-year letter winner in tack, earning All-MAC honors in a variety of events in his last three years. He won MAC titles in both the 110 and 400 meter hurdles as a junior and teamed with Ernie Meisel to lead the relay team to 13th in the nation in 1982. He led the team in individual scoring as a freshman and sophomore. While leading the team as a junior and senior to the first two MAC titles under Coach Jim Taylor. He was team MVP in 1981 and Co-Captain in 1982.
