Susquehanna University Athletics

A four-year, two sport letter winner Billig starred in basketball and baseball. He captained basketball as a guard in '65 and led the '62-'63 team to a 20-4 record. His best sport was baseball where he was a star pitcher under coach Jim Garrett. He holds the SU record of 88 strikeouts in a season and is 2nd in career strikeouts (223) and K's per inning (1.07). He signed a contract with the Detroit Tigers after his senior year.
