The most dedicated fan of Susquehanna sports for over 50 years, Dr. Gilbert showed personal interest and concern with countless players both before and after his retirement from the German faculty in 1970. He also served some 20 years as a member of the athletic committee under two presidents and became a founding member of the quarterback club.
