A four-year letter winner as a football fullback, he holds the SU career rushing record with 2,176 yards in 549 carries. He led his 1983 team to a MAC title (8-0-1). Belcolle was named ECAC Player of the Year and Division III NCAA Honorable Mention All-American. Hank was coached by Bill Moll.
