An outstanding sprinter on the track teams, Meyers was timed at 9.8 in the 100-yd dash and also competed in the broad jump and relays. He was the star quarterback on the undefeated football team of 1932. In the final game of the season against Juniata he had touchdown runs of 32 and yards to lead the Crusaders to a 12-7 victory.
