Stephen Fischer '00 became Susquehanna's first-ever swimming conference champion when he won the 200-yard butterfly at the 2000 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships with a then-school record of 2:01.92. Prior to the swim team's dominating run a decade later, Fischer held many of the program's top marks, including the 200-yard IM (2:05.07), 400-yard IM (4:28.61) and the 100-yard butterfly (54.30). As a relay member he also helped post the program's best times in the 200 medley relay (1:41.96) and 400 medley relay (3:44.20) at the time of his graduation. Fischer's top marks also earned All-MAC First Team finishes in the 100 fly and 400 IM as a senior and the 200 IM his freshman and junior seasons.
