Holder of many SU passing records. Young left Susquehanna with 2,261 career passing yards, 1,088 rushing yards, and 131 points in only 20 games. He held season highs with 1,481 total yards, 71 points, 922 yards (1951), as well as game marks with 20 completions (1950 vs. Juniata) and passing yards with 242 (1952 vs. Johns Hopkins). And a fine punter and placekicker. Young was named first team All-Pennsylvania and honorable mention. AP Little All America on 1951.
