Veach was an outstanding running back and kick returner for the Jim Hazlett Coached Crusaders in the early seventies. Recruited to SU by Hall-of-Famer Bob Pitello. Bob established several long-standing records. He held records for kick returns of 48 for 1498 yards and an amazing 3,524 All-Purpose yards in his career. He played as freshman on the 1970 Championship squad and was All MAC as a senior.
