Deamer was four-time NCAA Outdoor track and field participant and was an All-American in 2001 after a third-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 203’11’’. He holds the school record in the javelin by more than 15 feet and currently holds the third longest “new” javelin throw in NCAA Division III history with a throw of 236’1 1/2” in 2003.

Deamer guided his team to the 2003 MAC Championship and he competed at the United States Outdoor Track & Field championships at Stanford that same year. A two-time MAC champion as junior and senior (2002, 2003), he also placed second at the conference championships as a freshman in 2000.
