The 2009-2010 academic year marked Burns' 21st season as the radio play-by-play commentator for Susquehanna football and men's and women's basketball. Active at the time of selection. The "Voice of the Crusaders" has been known for his distinctive tone, dedicated preparation, constant professionalism and reliability. He has been behind the microphone for some of the greatest sports moments in the University's history. He has won multiple Associated Press awards for his play-by-play and is the first-ever SU sports hall of fame inductee selected as a media member.
