A two-time MAC Northeast All-Star as a catcher, Barker was named Most Valuable Player as a senior. As a junior he set a school single-season record with a .500 batting average along with nine home runs and 37 runs batted in. He finished with a career batting average of .354 with 14 home runs and 80 runs batted in.
