Honor of the NCAA College Division Record for consecutive PAT kicks with 75. Smeltz Left SU as the third highest scorer in Crusader Grid History with 147 points. Also an outstanding defensive end, he was named the MAC Northern Division All-Luthern College, All-State, and was voted the Crusaders MVP in 1974.
