In her four years, Gottshall produced a spectacular 45-5 record in Tennis singles. Her freshman and sophomore years she was undefeated, winning 17 straight matches. The highlight of her career was winning the MAC singles title in 1979- A win which also led her team to the MAC crown. She was best known for the power behind her strokes and uncanny shot placement.
